About this series

This two-part sermon series kicks off a year-long journey through the Sermon on the Mount, as we revisit the foundation of what it means to follow Jesus. We’ll explore the very beginning and the very end of Jesus’ teaching, providing the framework for the life He calls us into.

Part 1 | The Great Invitation (Matthew 4:18-22)
Following Jesus starts with a simple, yet life-changing invitation: "Come, follow me." This message challenges us to move beyond the question, "Am I a Christian?" to "Do I want to be a disciple of Jesus?" It’s not about labels or status—it's about a decision to pattern our lives after Him.

Part 2 | The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)
As disciples of Jesus, our calling doesn’t end with us. In this message, we explore how being a disciple means becoming someone who makes disciples. Jesus' last words on earth call us to go, to teach, and to baptize, spreading His life-changing message to the world.

About this message

This Sunday is extra special at Northshore as we celebrate our launch weekend! We’re thrilled to mark the beginning of having two Northshore campuses in the region with the launch of Northshore Mill Creek. As Pastor Scotty shares the message with both congregations today, he’ll be diving into the powerful parable from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount about the wise and foolish builders in Matthew 7:24-27. In this story, Jesus paints a picture of how we all build our lives and face storms along the way. The choices we make and the foundations we lay will shape what happens next in our journey. Let’s come together to reflect on what it means to build wisely!
