Mending the Divide

What comes to mind when you think of Christmas? For many of us, it’s things like festive decorations, shopping for gifts and family traditions. Those are all good, fun and special things, but Christmas is so much bigger than putting lights on a tree or picking out the perfect stocking stuffers. In our current series, we’re discussing how Christmas is about God making everything right. Rather than a brief distraction from the problems of daily life, Christmas is a complete vision of everything flourishing. A vision of nations at peace with one another, of healing from centuries of racial injustice, of no more gaps between rich and poor and of whole families flourishing. Whether it’s the divide between us and God or the divides we have with other people, God has given us the ministry of reconciliation, of playing an active role in mending the divide.
