Jono is a city coordinator with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The greatest challenge of this role is bringing together the 43+ ministries around the city for leadership meetings and accountability. Jono also pastors a small church that meets at a home for girls at risk of being trafficked. Recently, two of the girls acknowledged Jesus as their savior, and Jono had the privilege of baptizing them.
Sara is with Wycliffe Bible Translators and trains mother-tongue translators (people who are translating the Bible into their own language) in principles of translation. Her greatest joy is seeing these speakers of minority languages go on to create materials for their communities. Ironically, the greatest challenge she faces in her work is communicating meaning clearly through a shared language (so, translation!)
Pray for wisdom for Jono as he helps build toward unity in the community, that the mother-tongue translators would have insight for how to express the concepts of the Bible in their own language in a way that is accurate yet sounds natural.
