Slovenia - Bordner Family

Our family serves in Slovenia with an organization called Josiah Venture. It gets its name from king Josiah, who as a young man was fully committed to God and His word, and eventually turned the hearts and minds of an entire nation back to God. Europe is filled with Josiah’s, young men and women ready to give their hearts to Christ. However, in Slovenia there are only about 1,800 evangelical believers in the entire country, which means most of those young Josiah’s don’t yet know Christ. Our goal isn’t to just get people into the doors of the church, it’s to make disciples who make disciples. We really believe this is how we are going to fulfill the great commission. And praise God that we are already seeing dozens of young Slovenes, 1st generation Christians, giving their lives to reach their friends, families, and neighbors. God is at work in Slovenia and we are privileged that we get a front row seat to all that He is going.

Please pray for unity within the Slovene Church. Division is in just about every facet of Slovene culture, and the church is no exception. Pray for our church in Koper, where there is a small group of 60 believers are trying to reach the entire coastal region of Slovenia that has around 40,000 people. As far as we know there are only about 1,800 evangelical believers in the entire country of Slovenia.
