Papua, Indonesia

Event Details
Kent and Amy Embleton serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Papua, Indonesia. Kent works as a pilot and aircraft mechanic, and Amy takes care of their three boys at home. In Papua, MAF serves a variety of Christian ministries and isolated communities with aviation service in some of the most demanding conditions in the world. In addition to this, Kent is thankful that he gets the opportunity to train and mentor MAF national staff in their roles, a task he considers very fulfilling.
Kent and Amy chose John 10:10 as a theme verse when they began working with MAF, and it has been a source of encouragement for them. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” In their experiences thus far, Kent and Amy have witnessed both the darkness of the world and the abundant life that God provides through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
In 2023, the Embletons moved to the mountain city of Wamena in Papua to be a part of the MAF team there. The city is strategically placed nearby some of the most difficult to reach communities in Papua, and many of the flight legs are under a half hour. Kent and Amy want to thank Northshore for their love and support. Amy has been a part of Northshore since her childhood.
Prayer requests:
- Safety in MAF’s aviation operations, and specifically for Kent as he flies in the mountains
- That believers new and old in Papua would center their lives around Jesus
- For the opportunities we have to partner with the local church
- For our three boys to walk with the Lord
