Women’s Ministries: Fall 2018!

Welcome to Women’s Ministries at Northshore! We are so glad you’re here.

There are a few new things ready to pop around here and we couldn’t be more excited! Below you’ll find everything we offer women and the faces you’ll want to remember.

Bible Studies

Tuesday Morning Bible study meets every Tuesday, beginning Sept 18, from 930-1130a (**note new time) in the Glacier Room. We will be studying I Peter: Discovering Encouragement in Troubling Times, by Sue Edwards. We worship, hear encouraging teaching, and discuss the lesson in community through small groups. Childcare available. Cost is $20. Register here. For questions, contact Laura Jensen.

Thursday Evening Bible study meets every Thursday, beginning Sept 20, from 630-8p (**note new time) in the Glacier Room. We will be studying Discerning the Voice of God, by Priscilla Shirer. This is a video teaching followed by discussion in community through small groups. Childcare in NOW AVAILABLE for birth thru 5th grade. Cost is $20. Register here. For questions, contact Kim Henson.

Gatherings

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets twice monthly, Thursdays, from 930-1130a (**note new time) in the Glacier Room. This is a time for moms with kiddos birth thru kindergarten to enjoy breakfast together, an informative speaker on a variety of parenting topics, and community through a small group format. Childcare available. MOPS registration is now closed. For questions, contact Camie Anderson

Open Table is a place for women to gather for dinner, once a month, on a three month rotation. The goal is to experience hospitality through a shared meal and further our togetherness through questions about faith. This is not a Bible study, but rather a place to see new faces and hopefully come away with a few new friends. We are hoping women of all ages will participate in this opportunity and potentially view it as a place of mentorship…where has God called you to hear from a wiser sister in the faith or to reach back to a sister newer in her walk with God or in life? Open Table is for you! There are locations around the Eastside and the days and times vary. The groups are full for the fall. For questions or to host, contact Leigh Ann Lynch.

Women in Action (55+) is a place for women to be in community together, have a lovely coffee and brunch, and encourage each other through acts of service. We meet quarterly, in the Rainier Room, Wednesdays from 10am-noon. The dates for 2018 are: Sept 26, Nov 14, Feb 13, and April 24. RSVP to Mary Bullock. No registration online for this gathering.

Save the Date!

Interlude is our fall retreat at Rainbow Lodge in Northbend, WA. Join us Nov 10-11, registration opens October 15.

New Faces!

Jackie Giardino should be a familiar face to many of you, as she and her family have been at Northshore for several years and she has been involved as a group leader and curriculum writer on Tuesday mornings. She will be overseeing Women’s ministries in full swing this Fall. Jackie is originally from England, came through Chicago as a kid and young adult, and then hit the PNW 10 years ago. She is married to Joe and has three energetic, school-age boys. She loves a good cup of coffee and doing great ministry!

Lauren Neal, the previous Women’s ministry director, has loved leading the women of Northshore for the past four years. She has shifted to the role of Group Life Director, and can’t wait to see how God uses this ministry in the life of our church. Lauren is married to Jon and has three BIG kids…the oldest of whom is a senior in high school this fall. How does this happen? Lauren still lives with her two beagle brothers, Charlie and Rocky; while starting to age (9yrs), they still make her smile each morning with the wag of their tail.

Women’s ministry now falls into Group Life, as does Discipleship, Small Groups, and Men’s ministry. We are excited to partner as one big group to help the people of Northshore experience life transformation through small group community.
