Spring Stories?

Spring Stories?

What do you think when you see this picture? My heart races a little bit, and I think about all the possibilities of stories held on this shelf.

I would love to know what God-stories have transpired in your life this school year–maybe as a result of something you’ve learned, read, heard, or experienced. It’s encouraging to share these with each other as we are in community together. I’ll go first….

Recently, I was reading a book, and at the very end the author was encouraging the readers to be “Prisoners of Hope”. As God followers, we have the ultimate hope in Jesus, but don’t always live like it…especially when we confront something difficult. I’ve been examining some of the ways I have been more captive to fear than imprisoned by hope. The fear comes out in my words, my thoughts, and my actual body. My body revolts against me when it’s filled with fear and worry. I feel like a prisoner in my own body sometimes. My heart’s cry this week is that I would be imprisoned by HOPE and have no other way to turn because I’m bound up by Jesus’ love and protection.

So, what’s something you’re pondering?

Thanks Lauren. So glad to hear your story and how the Lord is working within you. He’s also been working within me these past 8 months through the Freedom Sessions class at church. What an amazing time of hard work dealing with my past, coming clean with the Lord and others, forgiving and being forgiven, These past 8 months I’ve been working on my inner being and now I’m starting to work on my outer being by taking action on all my physical issues. At the same time, the Lord is leading me into learning about racial reconciliation issues. So life is full right now with lots to process.
