The Northshore Board of Overseers is seeking nominations for qualified men to serve as overseers. The deadline for nominations is Sunday, March 19, 2023.
Role
The leadership of this church is carried out by a Board of Overseers functioning under the headship of Jesus Christ, according to the Scriptures and the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Overseers, appointed with the consent and support of the church body, are the decision-making body. Their biblical function is to exercise spiritual oversight (Acts 14:23; 20:17, 28, Ephesians 4:11, Philippians 1:1, I Timothy 5:17, Titus 1:5, Hebrews 13:17, I Peter 5:1-3). The Overseers are ultimately responsible to God and are to lead as exemplary representatives of the congregation. (Acts 15:6, 20:28, I Timothy 5:17-22)
Qualifications
Qualified men are those who…
• Desire to serve God by leading His people
• Have recognizable character qualities as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
• Conscientiously accept the articles of faith and the Constitution of the church
• Are actively involved at Northshore Community Church and have been a member for at least one year
Duties
The duties of an overseer include…
• Enacting and forming the strategic vision of the church
• Guardian and caretaker of NCC theology and doctrine
• Developing and implementing policies of the church
• Administration and supervision of the ordinances (baptism and communion)
• Prayer for healing and anointing
• Financial oversight of the annual budget
• Other duties as necessary
