Child Dedication

At Northshore, we believe that faith begins at home, and we love partnering with parents as they help their children grow in a lifelong relationship with Jesus!

Child Dedication is more than a special moment on a Sunday morning. It is an important milestone in your family’s discipleship journey. It’s an opportunity for parents to intentionally commit to raising their children to know and follow Jesus, surrounded by a church community that promises to encourage, support, and pray for them along the way.

Parent Preparation Class

Sunday, October 18 | 9:00 AM | Room 200

As part of this milestone, we invite parents to participate in a required Child Dedication Parent Preparation Class. This class is designed to be more than preparation for the dedication service. It’s an opportunity to explore what it means to be the primary spiritual influence in your child’s life and discover simple, practical ways to nurture faith through everyday family rhythms.

We’ll talk about the significance of child dedication, the role of parents and the church in raising the next generation, and how you can begin building a foundation of faith in your home.

Children are welcome to attend our regular Kids Ministry programming during the class.

Child Dedication Celebration

Sunday, November 1

This is a special opportunity to publicly commit to leading your child toward Jesus and to celebrate alongside other families and your church community. We encourage you to invite extended family and friends to join us as we celebrate and pray over your child together.

Important Registration Details

• The Parent Preparation Class on October 18 is required to participate in the November 1 dedication service.
• Please register only if you can attend both the preparation class and the dedication service.
• Child Dedication is typically for children birth through 1st grade.
• For children in 2nd–4th grade, we encourage families to explore our Kids Baptism Class as a potential next step in their faith journey.
