Job Description

The Worship Leader will carry out the mission and vision of Northshore. This is done by leading, managing, and planning worship environments that are designed to engage students, promote community, and build discipleship. This position will work in partnership with the Next Gen team.


Student Worship

  • Lead worship on stage on Wednesday nights.
  • Assist in the involvement of coordinating and facilitating the large group environment.
  • Identify, raise up and disciple a student worship team comprised of students.

Adult Worship

  • Active contributor in weekend planning meetings, as well as the Weekend Experience tactical/strategic/dev. meeting.
  • Volunteer development and engagement.
  • Volunteer scheduling and onboarding.
  • Rehearsal and set planning.
  • Lead/co-lead the weekend worship experience.

Student Ministry Written Communication and Social Media Engagement

  • Coordinate and implement a communication strategy to parents and students, via regular email/text communication and social media posts.
  • Plan monthly newsletter and other parent resources.
  • Update website regularly and maintain the “front door” of Student Ministry through our online and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate graphics, videos, and merch for events, camps, or midweek programming.

Student Ministry Team Staff Responsibilities

  • Manage and review data generated through dashboards and metrics.
  • Use Planning Center to generate rosters, attendance sheets, and sending of mass emails or communication to students and parents.

Pastoral Staff Responsibilities

  • Co-lead in the pastoral care of students, leaders, and families.
  • Actively involved as part of the Northshore Staff by attending all-staff meetings and team meetings.
  • Participate as a leader in “All-Hands” Northshore Events, as directed.
  • Execute other staff duties as assigned (preach, pastoral care, hosting, etc.).


  • Excellent communication skills from the stage, in front of groups, and with team members.
  • Higher education degree or comparable skills and understanding of scripture/theological concepts.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding staff or congregant personal information, including ministry leaders, volunteers, students, and parents.
  • Ability to work as a team member with peer workgroup to accomplish desired results.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the Student Ministry.
  • Be a regular attendee at Northshore and pursue membership (if not already).
