Job Description

The Social Media and Marketing Manager helps Northshore and the Communications Department be successful by creating content, supporting communication goals and deliverables, and capturing and telling what God is doing through our church in concert with the Director of Communications.


  • Create a variety of videos distributed through our digital platforms including promotional pieces, storytelling and testimonial videos, message clips, and announcements
  • Overlay photographs with copy and/or graphics
  • Produce content relevant to each social media platform
  • Develop new design concepts and graphics for social channels aligned with overall digital strategy
  • Curate and design digital content for weekly and monthly emails
  • Capture Sunday services and other events with videos and photos
  • Copywrite for emails, website, social media, and other promotional materials
  • Proof and edit all copywrite material
  • Assure that content is in compliance with professional standards, church standards, and brand execution requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of social media campaigns and provide regular reports to the Leadership Team
  • Facilitate two-way church communication (monitor the church’s social media, respond to queries)
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Network with industry professionals and influencers: stay up to date with new digital technologies and best practices, regularly sharing new information and ideas with ministry teams
  • Assist with video/photography shoots
  • Assist with website and App updates
  • Assist with scheduling and calendaring of promotions

Job Requirements

  • Understand and be able to champion Northshore’s mission and vision
  • Proven work experience as a digital or social media manager
  • Knowledge of how to color grade/edit photos
  • Knowledge of how to use professional cameras (Canon)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects)
  • Expertise with digital platforms including websites, targeted emails, apps, and social media
  • Understanding of SEO, web traffic metrics, and social media analytics
  • Ability to identify target audience preferences and build content to meet them
  • Familiarity with web design and publishing
  • Degree in Communication, Marketing or relevant field and three years’ experience managing social media or any equivalent combination of education and experience
