Job Description

At Northshore, we believe that Jesus can change everything for anyone. The Lead Videographer plays a critical role in seeing that belief come to life by telling inspiring and compelling stories of what God is doing through Northshore in the film and video medium. Northshore is a vibrant and growing church on Seattle’s Eastside. We are currently about to launch our first multisite campus and are in the middle of a multimillion-dollar capital campaign, which provides robust opportunities for storytelling.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Creative Leader – Help create and implement strategic communication plans, to support organizational and departmental goals. Provide content support for key communication channels and act as a key content advisor that assures content follows professional standards, church standards and brand execution requirements – you are the expert on all things video.
  • Storyteller – Cultivate and share stories to support organization goals, inspire people, and generate action. Manage the end-to-end storytelling process and publishing.
  • Connector – An amazing collaborator by building strong relationships across multiple departments and stakeholders. Leverage your skills to inform communications planning and enable departments to be successful in their communications efforts. Network with industry professionals and influencer. Stay up to date with new technologies and best practices, regularly sharing new information and ideas with ministry teams.
  • Video Vanguard – An amazing video editor and director through building strong volunteer teams to assist with video shoots and editing. Lead the way for new and inspiring approaches to telling the greatest story ever told. Coach staff, volunteers, and manage contractors to help our team produce video excellence. Deliver a high volume of informative and inspiring videos for a multitude of communication channels such as social media, the website, and in-person viewership.

Job Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Two plus years’ experience in a video editing role and a proven track record of inspiring storytelling
  • Ability to manage and produce a high volume of projects
  • Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ
  • Ability to champion Northshore’s mission and vision
  • Excellent people/relational skills
  • Strong storytelling skills - thrives at creating clarity and simplifying narratives that result in inspiring videos that generates action
  • Positively contributes as part of a team in a high-paced and fast-changing work environment with a can-do, learn-it-all mindset
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ensures accuracy in all communications deliverables
  • Ability to work effectively across departments, drive successful communication plans and contribute to the success of others
  • Skilled at managing and meeting budgetary and time requirements
  • Familiar with Facebook/Instagram, YouTube and Vimeo
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premier, After Effect)
  • Expertise in directing (to include directing set design, scripting, lighting, and sound)
  • Expertise in editing (to include color grading, transitions, audio mixing, and animations)
  • Northshore Member or pursue membership (if not already)
