We realize that giving online raises a few questions for our church. We have gathered the most frequently asked questions and listed their corresponding answers below.
Are there any fees involved with giving online or through the app?
Yes, but not to you. You select the dollar amount for your gift, and that dollar amount will be recognized as your donation. You incur no additional costs or fees.
Northshore Community Church pays approximately 3% of each contribution made by a bank card for card processing services. You may want to consider increasing your online giving amount by 3% to help offset the card processing costs.
If Northshore wants to help people get out of debt, why is credit card giving accepted?Debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people use them in place of checks or cash, then payoff the balance in full each month. For these people, we offer the option of using a debit or credit card for giving. Northshore believes and teaches that living debt free should be an important financial goal for all Christians. We recommend and encourage the use of electronic funds transfer (EFT) from a checking account* rather than a credit card. Although many pay off their credit cards each month, many others don’t. We don’t want to encourage anyone to go into debt and pay interest on any gifts given to the church.*EFTs are preferred due to lower processing costs than cards.
Why is giving online or through the app a good idea?Giving online or through the app turns your intentions into reality with ease. After prayer, decide whether your desire is to make a one-time or recurring contribution. You don’t have to remember to write out a check each Sunday or each month, or remember to mail it in or drop it by when you’re gone for an extended period. It’s all entirely confidential. Giving online is a personal preference. Here are a few reasons online giving may be a benefit to you:
- It helps prioritize and plan your giving.
- It helps simplify your giving.

This time frame allows the contribution to process through your bank and the church’s bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or a holiday, the transaction will be initiated on the next banking day.
How can I get a receipt of my online contribution?
You may print your Giving History page from your Online Giving account as a valid receipt. Your Online Giving gifts will also be included in your year-end contribution statement.
