Annual Family Meeting for Northshore Members

As we prepare for our annual Family Meeting on October 1, Northshore members have the opportunity to review and vote on the approved budget for the upcoming 2023-2024 ministry year, new Overseers, and new bi-law language. It is highly recommended that Northshore members vote and submit any questions before the meeting. Questions submitted will receive either a response from an overseer or be answered during the Family Meeting.

Recommended Bylaw Changes

The Board of Overseers is recommending two minor changes to our bylaws.

Article 4 Section C Item 5B
Previous:
The primary source for new Overseers shall be those men from within the church body who have been members for at least one year. However, it shall be permissible to call any pastor from outside the local body to serve as such as long as all scriptural guidelines are met. (Acts 15:6, 20:28, I Timothy 5:17-22)
Updated:
New Overseers shall be men who are members of the church who have been engaged in the life of the church for at least one year. (Acts 1:21-22, Timothy 3:6)

Article 7 Section C Item 5
Previous:
If authorized by the chairman, in his sole and absolute discretion, Overseers may participate in a meeting of the Board by means of a conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other at the same time. Participation by such means shall constitute presence in person at a meeting.
Updated:
Overseers may participate in a meeting of the Board by means of video or telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other at the same time. Participation by such means shall constitute presence in person at a meeting.

We invite you to join us for a brief informational meeting on September 24, at 11:30 am in Baker Room to hear more about these changes from our Board of Overseers.

Overseer Candidates

After a search process, the Board of Overseers proposes the following members to join the Board. The congregational team has interviewed all the candidates proposed by the Board, and they have affirmed that they meet the criteria set out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-11.

VOTE

Ballots for voting on the budget, overseer candidates, and bi-laws are available using the link below. Paper ballots will also be available upon request in person, during the Family Meeting. We encourage everyone to vote online before the Family Meeting on October 1st. This allows us to efficiently manage our time that day as we count the votes. Voting is one member per ballot, meaning married couples must fill out individual ballots for their votes to count as two.
