Recovery & Support

Everybody needs a place to go for help, encouragement and support when life is not working and disillusionment sets in. Northshore’s Recovery & Support Ministries provides a place where the liberating work of change can take place with the help of trained and experienced help.

Available Groups

We offer recovery & support groups, one-on-one meetings, community resources, support for families in domestic abuse situations, as well as skill-building classes for children. Let us introduce you to the transforming power of Jesus Christ in a safe, confidential, and loving atmosphere regardless of your circumstances. Join us for the coming months as we delve into issues of life and find freedom in Christ. Choose an option below and register.

Summer 2017 Groups

Making Peace with your Past

Have you thought about how your past influences how you do life today? Even after you have tried to change your behavior, do you see yourself still making the same destructive decisions over and over again? Join us in “Making Peace with Your Past.

Mondays, beginning June 5–August 28, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Conquer Series

This five week DVD and discussion series focuses on sexual purity by helping men get to the root of bondage. It offers principles and practical tools to conquer porn and find freedom. This is not about behavior modification but is about heart transformation. This series will explore strongholds that keep men in bondage

• Examine the neurochemistry of addiction
• Discover the weapons and strategies of God
• Investigate proven strategies to prevent relapse
• Study practical daily techniques to remain free

Boundaries

Are you a controller or do you feel controlled? How do you answer someone who wants your time, love, energy and money? Do you have trouble saying no? Healthy relationships depend on healthy boundaries. But many people don’t know where to start. Boundaries is a group which follows the DVD series by Dr.’s Cloud and Townsend. This material helps us define our personal boundaries or markers such as our feelings, thoughts, desires, body and actions. Together we will explore how to find freedom in our relationships.

Winter 2017 Groups

Boundaries (Coed)

Finding God’s Presence in Our Stories (Women)

In this group we will be identifying God’s grace in our life story through art, prayer, and journaling. During the 14 weeks we will be using storyropes ©, cross pages, and other collage projects to discover the elements and themes in our life journey, noting its’ value and the redemptive threads. You don’t need to be an artist to be healed through art. Please join us for a great winter adventure with God.

Griefshare (Coed)

GriefShare is for those who have lost someone close to them through death. GriefShare shows you how to access the hope, help, and healing that God offers through a 13-week program. Each session features helpful, comforting videos and encouraging group discussion.

Mondays, beginning February 27–May 22, 7–9 pm.

Confident Kids (Elementary)

Confident Kids is a life-skills program offering help and encouragement to children 1st through 4th grade, where any child within that age range can attend.

Parents, we also ask that you complete an informational form on your child. This can be supplied to you after you register.

Care Skills Training

Formerly Stephen’s Ministry Training. Are you someone who has a heart for walking with others facing hard times? Do you have mercy and compassion gifts and want to sharpen your skills in helping others? If so, we will be offering care-skills training to prepare you for the next step.
